Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actor who is employed in TV and film is most well-known for her roles in films like Rush and Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra began her career in showbiz at a young age. Her roles included lead characters in television dramas as early as 16 years old. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominated features featuring female stars. Alexandra was engaged in numerous noteworthy projects, both in the United States and internationally. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historic miniseries Napoleon among others. She also served on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and also at Cannes Film Festival.
