Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig September. 21, 1983) is an acclaimed American actor. Particularly, she played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. The couple had separated and she moved with her mom to Los Angeles. They were struggling to survive at the time she landed her first acting role in the film Rachel's Room's leading character. Her performance in the role of Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder In Greenwich in 2002 earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford was the lead actress in Lost for its first two seasons. In 2004, she won the Screen Actors Guild Award with the entire ensemble. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club both in 2007 and Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. She played the same role in Taken 2 and Taken 3 (both 2012). Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth season of Californication. She portrays Faith who is both a star-gazer and groupie. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she is the daughter and elder sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in his films. She also appeared with her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, the romantic comedy-drama erotico and Sherrybaby (a dramatic) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Awards. Following several commercially-successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 her fame grew for her role as Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child received her a nomination to the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles include the role of a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in the film Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal's first film as a writer and director was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological thriller in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
